January 2, 2025
I'm trying something different this year. The items below are vaguely to absolutely achievable goals that I want to reach in 2025. At the end of the year I'll come back and analyze how well I accomplished what I wanted to do.
In 2024 I definitely lost track of my sleep schedule. I'm continually torn between being a night owl and an early bird, and I like to get up early to go to the gym. I want to aim to go to sleep in the 9:30-10:00 timeframe consistently.
On the heels of the above, I starting lifting in September and gained a decent amount of muscle, then lost it after Thanksgiving. I'd like to gain strength (and power, and endurance) and keep it all year. That can't be too hard, right?
This is what it sounds like. Maybe I'll get some kids' manga in the original language and slog through it. I just started the KanjiDamage Anki deck and I'm still in the early phases of the Japanese learning book I picked up for free. I have very far to go before I'm remotely proficient but each step is one step closer.
I started one massive hobby project in 2024 that lasted from March to August (though its collapse could be attributed to many reasons). I would like to finish and document at least one hobby project this year. There's already one in the pipeline (stay tuned for that!).
This would mean doing at least a combined 6 weeks' worth of work total outside winter break and summer, or about 7 hours per week during the school year. This should be completely achievable (I even planned to do that much per week last year but got busy goofing off).
